Happy Father's Day to all the Dads or surrogate Dads that are out there. If you are sitting there and have not found a gift or taken the time to get poor Dad a gift here are few of my quick suggestions:
1) If Dad lives out of town try something really novel these days... Call him on the phone and have a real conversation. Forget the text message. Dad's love to speak to their children especially when Dad knows the child is not staring at a phone or a PC and texting or social networking with all of their friends. On Mother's Day prisons across the country have along line all day of inmates waiting to call their Mom's. Dad's day there is never a line...
2) If Dad lives in the same area go visit him and make a little fuss over him. Make sure he is not spending his day working at home or anywhere else. If there are some thiungs that have to be done volunteer to do them so Dad can relax.
3) Send or give him a card. If there little children in the family have one or all of the kids make him a card(s). Dad's love home made cards. If Dad is internet savvy, send him an E-card if you can not go visit him. If you visit him go buy him a decent card.
4) If you visit Dad give him a big hug and tell him you love him and appreciate everything he did for you. If you call him tell him the same thing over the phone.
5) If you want and can afford to buy him a present forget the lame old tie or shirt idea. Buy hime a gift certificate from a favorite sports shop, restuarant, driving range, etc. ( key here is it involves something he likes to do) and make sure the gift certificate does not lose value as time goes on.
6) Buy him dinner at one of his favorite restaurants.
See that was real esay. Dad's are very easy to buy for and to make happy.
