Houston This Weekend! 02.03.12

February 3rd, 2012

There’s always something to do in H-Town!  Here’s a short list of what’s happening around town this weekend!

For a complete searchable list, click here.

The Toxic Avenger: Alley Theater :: The Toxic Avenger is a charming love story and laugh-out-loud musical that has it all — an unlikely hero, his beautiful girlfriend, a corrupt New Jersey mayor, an onstage band, and two guys who play… well, everyone else … bullies, mobsters, old ladies, and stiletto-wearing back-up singers.

The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer 10th Birthday :: We’re blowing up the pink balloons and are energized for the 2012 Avon Walk season. It’s our 10th Birthday and all we want is you – your spirit, your energy, your passion! Join us and help us kick off this year-long celebration! Learn more about the Walk, hear inspiring stories of the life changing difference from survivors, and meet others (just like you!) who are IN IT TO END IT.

Bodies in Balance: Childrens Museum of Houston :: Life is a balance beam and without much thought, we learn to juggle while keeping our equilibrium. Fill your mind with the brilliance of balance as we celebrate the opening of our new exhibit, Balancing Act (Jan. 28 – May 20), which focuses on the physical nature of balance and how our body works to achieve it. Thrill your senses with mind-wobbling activities sure to keep you on the tip of your toes!

Celebrity Mystery Theater: Imagine yourself enjoying dinner socializing with friends, having a few drinks ….when suddenly a murder is committed. Let the wacky antics of two famous detectives, never seen together before any where, amuse you as they hilariously solve the crime.

Tutankhamun: The Golden King and the Great Pharaohs :: Museum of Fine Arts, Houston: This acclaimed traveling exhibition features more than 100 artifacts, most never shown in the U.S. prior to this tour. Spanning some 2,000 years of Egypt’s history, the exhibition presents spectacular treasures from the tomb of King Tutankhamun, along with extraordinary objects from the reigns of pharaohs who preceded him.
