The Houston Heights Association’s festive annual event will be held on Friday, December 3, 2010, from 6-9pm, and Saturday, December 4, 2010, from 3-9pm. The Holiday Tour consists of six unique homes decked out for the Holidays, three historic and three recent/newer construction. There will be free shuttle bus pick up at the Heights Fire Station (located at Yale & 12th Street) for travel to all of the homes on the Tour. There is parking available at the fire station and nearby.

Recently described by National Geographic Traveler in their March 2010 issue as: “Small town in a big city: Houston Heights offers Texas history, global cuisine and stately architecture”…the Holiday Tour offers the opportunity to experience our unique neighborhood all decked out in the wonder of the holiday season!

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at: www.houstonheights.org at the beginning of November, The Artful Corner, Heights’ Antiques on Yale, Waldo’s Coffee House, Bliss on 19th, Buchanan’s and Phil’s Texas Barbecue. Tickets can also be purchased at each tour home on the days of the tour for $25. Special pricing for blocks of 10 tickets (before the Tour dates only) will be $175.

Sat DEC 4
Heights Mistletoe Madness

Billed by organizers as just the right mix of "Eat, Drink, Shop & Be Merry," Heights Mistletoe Madness is always on the first Saturday of December. The event showcases the Heights faithfully - profiling the people, the shop owners, the artists and the businesses that make the Heights a classy, progressive, and eclectic destination not to be missed. Choose from gifts that you won’t find anywhere else – fresh, original art, jewelry, clothing, home furnishings, antiques, furniture. Stroll the streets or take a shuttle with a cup of warm Wassail. Tour the Victorian homes. Hear live music. Smell the wood smoke from the chimneys. See good art. Buy really great gifts! Try a new restaurant or revisit an old favorite. Enjoy the chill in the air. Hail a pedi-cab or hop a shuttle for a different trip to a gallery, shop, restaurant, or home. The Heights Holiday Home Tour is always the same weekend, so there’s a lot to do in the neighborhood. Enjoy the ultimate first Saturday of December in the Heights. More info, visit www.HeightsMistletoeMadness.com.

Sat DEC 11 6:00 - 10:00 PM
Lights in the Heights

Is in it’s 24th year. This year’s route will include Bayland, Highland and Omar. Plenty of music, entertainment and food abound. Expect some major wattage along with some choirs, hand bells, aspiring young dancers and impromptu concerts on folk's front porches. Streets are blocked off so it’s totally pedestrian friendly. We recommend bringing a wagon to tote the kids or a cooler full of holiday cheer.
