Video of the Responsible Historic Preservation Meeting which occurred at First Heights Baptist Church at 9th and Harvard October 23, 2010 at 1:00 may be viewed at http://goo.gl/EBut.  This meeting was an update of the status of the petition to repeal the Historic Preservation Ordinance for the Houston Heights Historic Districts: East, West and South.  There were also attendees from Norhill and Woodland Heights.  Hear personal accounts of how this ordinance is already impacting area residents in addition to a lengthy question and answer session.

DEADLINE FOR PETITIONS IS NOVEMBER 17th.  NO ACTION ON YOUR PART MEANS YES TO THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION ORDINANCE. 

Signing the petition and successfully rescinding the Historic Preservation Ordinance DOES NOT remove current deed restricitons, building setbacks or minimum lot size restrictions that are already in place in different areas of the Heights.  Successfully rescinding the Historic Preservation Ordinance DOES mean as a community we can put stronger restrictions in place that are reviewed and approved by people in our neighborhood and not the City of Houston.
