The majority of council rejected the by an 8-7 vote the mayor's and the planning department's recommendation to maintain in their current state the Heights' East and West Historic Districts.  The historic designation remains intact, but this vote sends the issue back to the mayor and planning department for more review and another recommendation.  Many thanks to all that have worked hard to preserve home owner's property rights and to those city council members that voted with integrity and followed the wishes of the majority of their constituents.
