Houston area single family home sales for 2011 are up 1.8% over last year as of August 31st.  Houston Heights area sales (Houston Heights, Norhill, Woodland Heights, etc.) are up 7.3% for the same time period.  

While Houston area numbers have not yet been released year-to-date through September 30th, the Houston Heights area continues to remain strong with 5.5% more homes sold through September than the same time period last year.  In addition, the average sales price per square foot in the Heights area increased from $195.55 to $200.79.  We currently have 237 homes on the market, significantly less than the 268 homes sold in the past six months, indicating demand is strong and supply is tight here in the Heights.  While homes not priced in accordance with their qualities may linger, properties showing thier best and priced to the market move quickly with more than 1/3 of the homes for sale in the past 6 months going under contract in 30 days or less.
