Leave the Porch Light On
On Sunday, November 6, at 2:00 a.m., our time falls back one hour. Don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour, and don’t forget that if you have a showing of your home anytime after 5 p.m., you’ll need to leave the lights on, including the porch light. No one likes to walk into a dark, cold house, especially not someone who is looking to buy a house.
When selling your home, it’s important to have the same mindset as potential buyers, who, generally, want warm and cozy. So if that’s want they want, that’s what you need to deliver to sell your home.
And Don’t Forget About Your Yard
We suffered through the drought hot temperatures this summer. But summer is over! Now is the time to rid your yard of any dead plants and trees, and add a few pots of color to your porch.
While mums might be tempting to purchase and plant, spend your money on blooming annuals that will last longer. Examples of flowers that will thrive during the cool weather are alyssum, calendulas, pansies, petunias, primroses, snapdragons and violas. Watered and carried for property, it’s not uncommon for these annuals to bloom until at least April.
