We are very lucky to live in the Houston Heights.  While the overall number of homes sold may have decreased during the recession, homes never decreased in value during this time in our neighborhood.  More exciting, finally, as of August 2012, the number of homes sold have increased to pre-2008 levels.  We haven't caught up with 2007 yet, but are on our way.

Home values year-to-date as of August 31st are continuing their upward trend and are  pushing above $210 per square foot on average.  The data reflected in this blog post are derived from the average of home sales within the map you can view at https://www.sugarsync.com/pf/D7301270_60613180_81071.
