Great article about our 160-acre Buffalo Bayou Park and Hike and Bike Trail. Houston is working to connect 150 miles of trails and Buffalo Bayou Park is undergoing a $58M renovation. It has come a long way....if you haven't seen it lately, you owe it to your self to jog, hike or bike it! Or even canoe it! Trails are being added, 15,000 trees planted, and an 11-acre native prairie installed. In addition, the Buffalo Bayou Partnership is restoring a historic building and grounds downtown at Allen's Landing where the city was founded and canoe, kayak and bike rentals will be offered. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department paddling trail covers a 26 mile stretch of the bayou and new canoe/kayak launches are being added at points along the way.
