Pesky Mosquitoes are out and about!

With the recent rains, our area has an increase in mosquitoes hatching. A few counties, including Fort Bend, have begun fighting back and using the spray trucks. Since we had a relatively mild winter and early spring, we are seeing more bugs sooner than expected.
A few things to remember...
Check for things around the yard that might hold water and give mosquitoes a place to lay eggs. Change water in birdbaths and wading pools weekly. Be aware that mosquitoes are most active at dusk and at dawn. Wearing long sleeves and long pants can also help while you are outdoors. And apply insect repellent with DEET.
