According to Urban Dictionary the term Bucket List is defined as: A list of things to do before you die. Comes from the term "kicked the bucket". Making lists like these is becoming more popular and can be fun to think about. There is even a social network site where you can post your Bucket List and share with others when you check items off, and also follow others as they fulfill their Bucket Lists. Check out www.bucketlist.org. for more information.
While looking in to the subject, I found a blog that really identified what having a bucket list means - to maximize every moment of our existence and live our life to the fullest. It’s a reminder of all the things we want to achieve in our time here, so that instead of pandering our time in pointless activities, we are directing it fully toward what matters to us. With summer coming up, I'm sure there are a few things right here in the Katy and Houston area that could be on your list and be able to be checked off...here are some ideas I found:
Go Skydiving with Skydive Houston
Visit Johnson Space Center
See Houston's Art Car Parade (happening May 10-12)
Sing at a Karaoke Bar
Take the kids to a Pro Sporting event: Astros, Dynamo, Texans, Rockets
Volunteer in your community (http://www.volunteerhouston.org)
And, well...the list goes on! Get out and have some fun!
