With an eye toward meeting the demands of future Katy homeowners, I'm happy to announce the proposal of a new master planned community to be located just north of I-10, adjacent to Old Katy. The new development will be accessed by the proposed Cane Island Parkway, running from Morton Rd. south to I-10. The Cane Island development proposal includes recreational reserve areas, lake structures, a Katy ISD elementary school site, an emphasis on preserving large trees, as well as several park and commercial retail areas. With the first segment of new road starting in the next few months, I can't wait to see this area transform into one of Katy's fantastic neighborhood communities.
