I have had a few gardening questions in the last couple of weeks concerning the freezing weather we had early in the year.
Homeowners should wait until we are out of the freeze date to trim back any freeze damaged plants. March 10th is usually our last frost date in the Houston area. Trimming plants encourages growth which will then suffer damage if we have another freeze. February is typically our coldest month in the Houston area so we could have another night or two of freezing weather.
On another note it is time to prune and fertilize your roses, you can safely trim roses back to a third of the plant size, this will encourage more blooms.
If you have any additional questions you can always reach me at cpburgess@yahoo.com or post a question here and I will respond to it...
happy gardening in Houston and Katy...
