A developer in Ohio has announced plans to build affordable apartments near Greatwood and Canyon Gate.  This is the third time they are trying to get this plan done.  There will be a 200-unit low income apartment complex if they succeed.  Residents are concerned about overcrowded schools, congested traffic near Crabb River Road, and of course their home values.  Homeowners along with local and state officials are fighting to make sure this plan will fail.  Unfortunately, the plans for apartment in Telfair and Riverstone had been approved long before the resdients there had a chance to voice their opinion.  The opposition to Imperial Sugar apartment plans in still an ongoing battle (see www.stopimperialsugarmillapartments.com).  How many more apartment complex do we need in the area while the school district has no plan to build more schools for our children??  How can we boast about the high quality of living in Sugar Land areas when we have to send little kids to attend school in trailers as is??
