Seabrook United Methodist Church invites you to the SOSS Lighthouse Gala, an annual fundraising event benefiting the Society of St. Stephen Outreach Ministry (SOSS) and local food pantry.  The SOSS Lighthouse Gala will take place on Friday, April 13, from 6:30p - 10:30p at Lakewood Yacht Club.  SOSS provides short-term financial assistance for rent, utilities and food assistance to residents of 77586.  The SOSS LIghthouse Gala is a major fundraising event where we can come together as a community, enjoy an evening of dinner and live entertainment and do some pretty amazing work for the benefit of others.  100% of all donations to SOSS go back into the community to help those in need.  SUMC pays all of the administrative costs of this outreach.  Tickets are $50 each.  For further information and to purchase tickets, please contact Julie Laverell at 281-326-1970  or Visit www.seabrookumc.org

Voyage into the Wild West on Saturday, February 11th from 11:00-4:00 located at 3200 Almond Creek Dr., Houston 77059. Get ready to put on your favorite western gear and join us for a day of fun, food and some extreme rides, such as the mechanical bull, human hamster balls and the quad jump. There is sure to be something for everyone, young and old alike. Do you like to ride horses? Come ear and saddle up. Do you like to sing karaoke - we'll have that too

There will also be an amazing silent auction, beautiful spa baskets as well as high-tech baskets such as the new 3DS, XBOX with Kinect and many more to raffle off, so come win a basket or two. There will be some great food to enjoy for lunch and a cake walk for dessert. This is a great event for the whole family so cowboy up and come out and visit us at our Wild West Fair.

Clear Lake (Kemah) Elks Lodge #2322 will be hosting their annual Elks Hoop Shoot Free Throw Program tomorrow, January 28th at K.E. Little Elementary, 622 Oklahoma Ave., Bacliff, TX 77518.

This free event is open to all boys and girls in the community ages 8 through 13 (age as of April 1, 2012).

The winners of each age group at this competetion will advance to the District level and from there they can advance to State, Regional, and Nationals. There will be trophies and prizes available at each level of competition. Winners at the National level will have their name inscribed on a plaque at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts!

Each shooter will need to brnig their original birth certificate and a copy of it. We have to validate the original and keep a copy until the next level of competition.
