Yesterday was a good day in Real Estate! One of our newest agents, Ben Bertrand, had his first closing! Ben has shown his drive and dedication since day one! We met him through a family connection and added him to our ERA family that day! He came to our ribbon cutting the next day for our new location and introduced him to about 200 new people, that was a blast! He finished up his classes at Champions School of Real Estate, passed his test and jumped in with both feet!! He has a great circle of friends and family and we have been teaching and training him all the way. From starting school to his first closing has been less than 90 days!! Wow! Elizabeth and I really enjoy teaching each agent on a personal level. One on one training and we make sure that you are getting the knowledge that you need to become a success! We have so many training tools and classes to take that this would be a very long blog if I were to name them all!
We were like proud parents when Ben came back from his closing! The lender had already called and bragged on him, as well as the closer. He is young and very excited about helping others to obtain their real estate goals. He had a real red letter day yesterday in real estate! Classes in the morning, closing in the afternoon and a listing in the evening! Way to go Ben! We are so proud that you are with our company! I know you will be a very successful REALTOR!
If you are interested in Real Estate, becoming a REALTOR, looking to buy, sell, rent or just want to get a pulse on the market, please send us a message or give me a call! Sharing what we know is what we do everyday!!
Make a choice to have a great day!

I have only worked for one brand since I started in my career as a Realtor, ERA. I was told to check out a few companies when I was about to get my license and I did. I remember being scared to death! I had only purchased one house in my life, I knew nothing about real estate sales! What was I thinking! I'm going into these big companies to talk to these people that I didn't know, about something I didn't know about! Had I lost my mind? Well, I got out of the car and straightened my purple polyester pantsuit (It was a long time ago, ok) and went in. Let's just say the first interview didn't go as planned.  So, I moved on! After a few of those I found the ERA office, really connected with the broker and staff, signed up, settled in and hit the ground running!
A few years ago, my team partner and I bought that ERA franchise and renamed it ERA Lone Star Realty! Over the years I learned that you need support to build a Real Estate career. You need a Real Estate family. ERA has always been there for me! From the first training class to my current business coaching classes, they are there. I can pick up the phone and call anyone at ERA and they will answer a question. I can call any ERA Broker or Agent anywhere in the world and they would talk with me or brainstorm an idea. It is rare to see a company support eachother like that. They see potential in us all. They are proud of us and they love seeing us succeed in growing our business! If you would like to start a Real Estate Career; if you love that everything in real estate has changed; if you would like to talk about helping others and really making a difference, give me a call! It will be a good experience! No need for purple polyester, business casual will work just fine. Make a choice to have a good day!

Today I looked up the word "blog". Sometimes the words we learn and take for granted we really don't understand. This is one of those techno words that I just thought that was invented or stood for something completely different! Actually it is short for web log. These two words together actually sound much better than blog! Blog sounds like something that you have to wipe off the bottom of your shoe. Maybe Captain Kirk was the first blogger on Star Trek with his "Captian's Log"!
The urban dictionary doesn't speak very highly of it and is quite graphic in the six definitions of it. Basically, there are two types, complaining teenagers and complaining adults. This is, of course, according to the urban dictionary.
I have been a Realtor for a very long time and I have seen a lot of changes in the real estate industry. When I started we had pagers that were required as apparel but cell phones were an option. Briefcases were a must but a computer was an option. I think you get the picture!
At ERA we were started on the vision of the fax machine technology and, as time goes on I have progressed with technology. Not as quickly as I would like but I do alright! Our MLS for Houston Association of Realtors is awesome! They are keeping pace and offer a wonderful set of tools for Realtors and non-Realtors. I am learning everyday that everyone searches for houses in their own way. I would like to reach people of all search levels and share what I know about Real Estate. You see, everything in Real Estate has changed! This I understand very well and I would like to share what I know with you. I will "BLOG" and text and email (I hear that is on the way out), capture, contact, snail mail, online chat, facebook, tweet, rate my experience, google or yahoo you! But what I really want to do is just to call you, communicate with you and find out what your needs in Real Estate are so that I can help you. I understand that life is busy! So, pick what works for you and contact me.
Check back and check out the blogging. I might keep this up! Web log. It's not so bad.
