First of all, let me say that this is an article for agents by an agent. After going through a buyer's market and now a seller's market, I prefer the buyer's market. Yes it's great getting a house sold quickly but here's my take on it. First of all, there's the challenge of getting those seller's into their next home and getting that timing just right. On top of that even though the seller is getting top dollar for their home, they then go out and pay top dollar for their next home. And then there's the issue of making offers for your buyers and getting beat out because of the low inventory and dealing with the buyer's understandable frustration.
In a buyer's market, yes the seller may have been losing some money on the sale of their home but they were getting more home for their money on the purchase of their next home. Some other minor issues are shorter exposure to receive sign calls and less time for marketing yourself though that listing. I would love to hear your thoughts about this, agents?
