As I welcome 2023, naturally, I reflect on the past year. Well, actually, the last few years. Before the pandemic, I was on top of the world. My role was helping families purchase their first homes, helping others upgrade or downsize their homes, and assisting businesses in finding the perfect location. I thoroughly enjoy helping solve problems whether it’s housing, financing, credit challenges, or just listening.

At the end of 2019, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I underwent treatment, surgery, and radiation in 2020 during the pandemic. So 2021 was a year of healing. Not just for me but for the world. I believe that society as a whole became ill because of the pandemic. We are social creatures, and to thrive in our human state, we need one another.

I never realized how much I enjoyed my job as a real estate agent until the pandemic hit. I love interacting, getting to know people (no one is a stranger to me), and helping people. But unfortunately, I felt useless. Because I couldn’t help as many people as I wanted to. I was in active treatment and didn’t have an immune system, as chemotherapy zapped all of my white blood cells.  

So, coming into 2023, I am fully mended and ready to roll. I come into 2023 entirely optimistic! Everything is excellent because I beat cancer, I’m still alive, and my calling is to help others. Happy New Year!
