Finding a Realtor to help find a rental home is similar but different from buying a home with the assistance of an agent.  If you've ever heard that searching for a real estate agent who specializes in leases is expensive, that is only partially correct.  Typically a broker doesn't charge the tenant for services to help them find a rental home, but requires a commission from the landlord (listing broker).  Realtors typically make money on home sales and purchases and not so much on rentals.
