Where to Eat - The Airport Edition

December 17th, 2021

Many of us are traveling to our loved ones for the holidays, which means the dreaded hours spent at the airport. Is there anything worse than airport fast food? Hopefully, we can help keep you from buying the overpriced trail mix from one of those small kiosks.

If you find yourself hungry in any of the following airports, we're optimistic this article will help.

Dallas/Fort Worth International - with options galore, this makes for an excellent departure airport. Not only do you have the usual food options, but there’s a cereal restaurant (who knew?), plenty of Mexican eateries (including a taco restaurant), and more BBQ than you could ever wish for.

San Francisco International - have you ever had food from a Michelin star chef at an airport before? No? Well, that’s because you haven’t gone to San Francisco International! Check out the Centurion Lounge (and open an American Express card beforehand as it’s only open to AMEX cardholders) where you can eat food that is literally from the kitchen gods themselves and 3 Michelin star worthy. You won’t ever regret it!

Jackson Hole International - avoid if you are hungry or a foodie. There is one - we repeat one - restaurant in the entire airport. Think old West, sourdough sandwiches, and Cracker Barrel. Unfortunately, if you don't like this one that leaves you with zero food options. If you want to get to your final destination in a jolly mood and not become Mr. Grinch, it’s best to choose a different airport or simply eat as much as you can before arriving. If this stop is unavoidable at mealtime you may want to consider B.Y.O. meal.

Houston Airports (IAH and Hobby) – We are lucky! There are several options to choose from including the Papas family of restaurants, Beer Taverns, Taquerias, and Auntie Annes if you are a pretzel lover like us!

All jokes aside, at Oakington Realty we hope you travel safely and enjoy the holiday season with friends and family.

Please remember - we are never too busy for your referrals and will take great care of anyone you send our way! Helping people make their dreams of homeownership come true is our dream come true!

Happy Holidays!
