As we celebrate the end of 2021 and look forward to 2022, there are a few things you can do today to fully start the new year with a blank canvas.
Think about the following questions and answer them for yourself truthfully:
What are you grateful for in 2021?
Even though it was a rough year for many, there are still things to be grateful for. Even if those things are tiny, they're worth keeping in mind. Its easier to create more positive experiences in the new year when you approach it with an attitude of gratitude.
What are you proud of yourself for in 2021?
Instead of asking yourself what you accomplished, ask yourself what you're proud of. Many people will find that the answers will differ. Maybe you're proud of yourself for making date night happen every other week in September and October, or helping your child with homework instead of working extra hours - whatever it is, take note of it. Maybe you want to repeat that in 2022.
What went well in 2021 that you'd like to keep doing in 2022?
Were you able to work out every day? Did you learn how to fuel your body with healthy food? Or did you get your spending in check? Whatever you did well and worked for you, decide to keep doing that in the future.
What did not go well in 2021?
This is where people often decide to make New Years resolutions, but unfortunately, resolutions are often nothing more than dreams, hopes, and wishes. Make a list of what didn't go well, and if it involves your family, sit them down and work out an actionable plan on how to improve those things. Do whatever you need to do today for it to go better tomorrow.
We wish you a wonderful end of 2021 and a beautiful start to 2022! May 2022 be full of abundance, health, joy, prosperity, and community!
