There is a beautiful subdivision in Northwest Harris County called Longwood Village.  It's nestled in the trees off of Telge and Huffmeister Roads in Cypress, TX.  A little bit of heaven in a busy world. 

I've lived in Cypress for over 35 years and when the tractors showed up to begin the road cutting for Longwood I was simply crying because I was sure that this developer would go in and scrape the earth clear of all of the beautiful mature trees that made their home on this quadrant of land near Houston.  But, to my delight, this was not your ordinary developer.  They actually had the good sense and foresight to leave as many of the trees alone as they possibly could.  For their trouble they sold out of a 10 year projected development in just 5 years.  Smart people.

So, here I am living down the road from this gorgeous area of homes with numerous parks, playgrounds, sidewalks throughout the entire area and a superb golfcourse that the true golfers say is outstanding.  I walk in the subdivision frequently because the neighborhood I live in does not have sidewalks.  It helps me keep up with the people moving in and out and let's me enjoy the beautiful lawns that the residents manicure and primp to the enjoyment of everyone.

I search HAR frequently for just the right home in Longwood that will tempt me to pack up my collection of 35 years in one home and move into a smaller, more manageable home.  I'll find it one of these days when the timing is right.

Cypress is changing, growing, stretching it's legs and turning into a vibrant, thriving community.
