Insurance Renewal Tips
Its the beginning of a new year and we all have put away the holiday decorations. Some of us motivated ones have even had thoughts of organizing our homes closets, garage and more. Here are some tips on reviewing your insurance plan.
1. Review your policy and coverage annually. Shop before renewing your home, health, automobile, or other insurance. Compare prices and services from several reputable companies for the lowest rate based on your needs.
2. Do a risk assessment and ask your agent for ways to lower your costs. Also, consider raising the deductible on your home insurance to lower the premiums.
3. Improve the security and safety features of your home to qualify for better discounts. A monitored burglar alarm system and smoke detectors will help lower your premiums.
4. Make sure your homeowner's insurance coverage is adequate. It should accurately reflect your home's current value, condition and improvements. Remember to add-on any new purchases or improvements made to your home.
5. Pay premiums semi-annually or annually to save. Ask for discounts such as multi-policy, senior citizen, or non-smoker.
