Houston’s most affordable neighborhoods to buy a house

October 15th, 2014

The average price for a home in Houston has increased by nearly $94,000 over the past decade.
In 2004, the average price for a Houston home was $175,800. Today, that price has increased more than 50 percent to $269,440, according to data from the Houston Association of Realtors and the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University.
In recent years, home prices have skyrocketed in Houston, squeezing out first-time homebuyers and triggering fears of a possible housing bubble.
