When starting the moving process whether it's cross country or across town, the first step should be finding an agent.  And if you are selling and buying, or just buying, or just selling for that matter one of the most importing assets you can have is a qualified agent who knows the area and has great contacts in the community in your corner.  He/she will navigate for you, advise you, negotiate for you, and even fight for you if necessary.  But just like any other industry it's important to do your research and make sure you are choosing someone that is qualified.  And by that I mean they need to have knowledge, integrity, and proven success in their field.  If the agent you are considering cannot provide proof of these things, you should probably move on.
