What is a Home Equity Review and Why Do I Need One?

A home equity review can be valuable for any homeowner looking to understand and maximize their net worth. Essentially, a home equity review involves assessing the current value of your home, as well as any outstanding mortgage and other debts that are secured against the property.

We aren't talking about getting a home equity loan.

Think about this:

  • We are not in a distressed market, and we are not facing a housing crash.
  • Your home value is likely increasing at a higher appreciation rate than in the past. Comparing 2020 values to 2022 market values was astounding.
  • Property taxes are rising steadily. County appraisal district notices are being sent out. Some of you may have already received them.
  • Insurance rates are increasing for homes, autos, and recreational vehicles.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE FOCUSED ON?

Besides checking your mortgage balance, and 401K/IRA balance, making stock portfolio adjustments, and reviewing homeowners and auto insurance, you need to be looking at your most significant asset.
