In the Houston area New Home Listings for sale have gone down by 12%. That is the 'downside' to the current market compared to the same time last year.
The upside to the current real estate market in Houston is that Showings have increased by 4%. There are more people out looking for homes during this time of the year versus a year ago.
Historically, the Spring and Summer months are the most active time for a seller. It is probably the best time for a seller to realize the most money for their property.
