Realtor Hours

Different Realtors have different hours.  I like to tell my clients right up front the hours I work.  My hours are 9:00AM – 5:00PM Monday through Friday, evenings and Saturdays by appointment only.  I have found that if I don’t let people know how I work than I get calls at crazy times.  I have gotten phone calls at 11:00 at night and 6:00 in the morning.  Can you imagine if that happened every day?  That is why I set regular work hours.  That doesn’t mean that I’m not taking care of my clients (check my client satisfaction rating).  I have systems in place that help me so that I don’t have to work 14 hour days.  Really, who does that?

I have a very good Realtor friend who from noon to 8:00.  She’s just not a morning person and those hours work very well for her and her clients.  The important thing is that she lets them know upfront how she works. 

To my fellow Realtors out there, why do you tell people that you are available 24 hours a day?  I hear that from other Realtors all the time.  It’s impossible and unnecessary.  Nobody really works 24 hours a day 7 days a week.  Please set your hours so that your clients are not disappointed when they call and you don’t answer.
