HOUSTON, Texas- The Valencia Group, a Houston-based developer, is partnering on the project to build a new luxury hotel in Downtown Houston. The Hotel Alessandra will be on the site of the former Yao Restaurant and bar, and the demolition of the previous site will begin this summer, and the opening date for the hotel is expected in the third quarter of the 2016.

The design of the hotel was created by Gensler's Houston and Los Angeles offices. Also, Midway Cos. agreeded to work with Houston First Corp and the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau to help attract more business to the downtown area. This luxury hotel in Downtown Houston will feature 225 rooms in 25 stores and will anchor GreenStreet, previously known as the Houston Pavilions.

The transformation of the Houston Pavilions was started last year. Changes to the property include removing existing implements while creating a new linear urban park within the center's three blocks. Downtown Houston has been undergoing a huge transformation during the past months, due tho the upcoming Super Bowl. The demand of Houston-area hotel rooms will increase even more this year, according to a recent report from PFK Consulting LLC. This will definitely attract more visitors to the area, putting Houston in the spotlight for interested relocators.
