The History Behind Long Meadow Farms

Jane Long, well-remembered as the "Mother of Texas" received a title to a league of land in Fort Bend County from Stephen F. Austin. Jane Long moved to this land in 1837 and developed a beautiful prairie that raised cattle and grew cotton. Descendants of Jane Long then purchased nearby land, expanding the "Long" land and carrying on the family name. This land is now a part of Long Meadow Farms. This community was proudly built with the same pride that those descendants had as they first made their way to this angelic prairie land just 175 years ago.
