Christmas Lights In or Around Houston

Typically showing homes at night is not my favorite thing to do only because my clients don't get to see the home and neighborhood as well as they would during the day; however, in the winter time I don't mind it! Mainly because if I'm showing homes at night during the Christmas Holidays I get to see all of the different lights that different neighborhoods have put out! With it being the holiday season a fun way for you and your family to celebrate is go driving around looking at Christmas lights.  These magically light displays will amaze your entire family.  The Houston area has some beautiful Christmas light and this article will give you all the information that you will need to find the perfect light display for your family to see to get in the holiday spirit.

One of the most obvious options is Zoo Lights.  This a beautiful display at the Houston Zoo and opens at six in the evening.  This option does cost money though and the cost does depend on the night that you go (there are some nights that are cheaper than others) and if you are a member or not.

Lights in the Heights is another Christmas light display that will take place on December 12 , 2015 from six in the evening until nine at night.  This tradition began twenty eight years ago and has now become an event for neighbors to meet and celebrate the holiday season with one another.  This a free event.

Another option is the 2015 Magical Winter Lights at the Sam Houston Race Park.  I am very excited to go to this one!! This is a 52 day festival going on from November 20, 2015 to January 10, 2015.  This light display has become the largest light festival in Houston and the largest lantern festival in the United States.  This festival makes Chinese lanterns larger than life remakes of common landmarks and landscapes, including: Asia, Dinosaur Land, Western stockyards, and many more.  This event does cost money.

The River Oaks area is another great place to look for lights.  This is a beautiful neighborhood where many of the homeowners work hard to create Christmas light displays that will be enjoyed by many.  This area has become a well-known area for lights and those living in this area know that they must live up to these expectations.

One more great area to look for Christmas lights is Prestonwood Forest Lights.  This is another residential area that has created a tradition of having amazing Christmas light displays, in fact it has been named the Nite of Lites.  Prestonwood Forest has be creating amazing light displays for over 35 years and around 750 homes in the neighborhood participate. The different streets decorate based off of different themes. You will see a lot of people going through the neighborhood on hay rides.

With all of these amazing light displays in the Houston area you and your family will be able to enjoy a wide variety of displays this holiday season.
