PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THE LEASE TO OWN con game....
Every week someone comes to me to rent one of my properties, telling me they have paid on their dream home for several years on a lease to own and found they were being evicted, because they did not have any interest in the home. It was just a lease....no documents to ownership are attached to a lease. They found themselves in the following situations.
1. Asked to move out, the owner was coming back.
2. The owner stopped paying on the mortgage and they had nothing and had to move out fast.
3. The owner told them they had to move, after paying on the home for 10 years, because she had lost her job and could no longer afford to make the mortgage payments.
Please call a seasoned real estate agent before you jump. Then find an attorney to look over the papers if you really think you want to go forward on a lease to own. DON'T DO IT!!! You have absolutely have nothing with a lease to own. You just have a lease.
Save up your money, at least $$6,000 to $10,000, build your credit back up. ... and go the right direction. Buy a home on a note and deed of trust. Use a reliable Realtor/ Take the contract through a reliable title company.
Do not get in a hurry. Hurrying causes troubles. Stay happy, enjoy your new home.
