Spring break for the Houston and surrounding areas is approaching quickly. If you are lucky enough to have some time off spend it with the kiddos. Make it a staycation and visit some of the fun and exciting things Houston and surrounding areas have to offer.

Below are The Freund Group’s top picks for activities to do and see during Spring Break.

Make a trip to the Houston Zoo. Whether your kids are 2 or 17, everyone loves the zoo. Make it a whole day of fun. Pack lunches and enjoy a picnic at Herman Park, roll down the hill for old times sake! Ride the train and spend some time outdoors.

Check out the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Why not throw a little education at the kiddos on their time off? They may enjoy it and learn some things in the process.

Discovery Green in Downtown Houston is filled with fun in the sun for people of all ages. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a day of outdoor activities. Discovery Green is an awesome “Green” park in downtown Houston that has many signature events throughout the year. The best part is it’s FREE!

Head on down to the water and spend some time at Kemah. Kemah Boardwalk is just a short trip from Houston. You can enjoy a day of amusement park rides, a wooden roller coaster, boardwalk games, and end the day with one of the many restaurants Kemah has to offer. Check out T-Bone Toms, as featured on Diner, Drive-ins and Dives on Food Network.

Another great area attraction is Galveston Beach. Galveston has miles of beaches for you and your children to enjoy. There are dolphin tours, boat rides, fishing charters, miles of restaurants to choose from and so much more.

While in Galveston check out Moody Gardens. Moody Gardens has many attractions for the whole family. Enjoy a trip through the rain forest pyramid, watch a 4-D movie, or check out the many other fun attractions Moody Gardens has to offer.

If you are ready for summer time fun and can’t wait, check out Schlitterbahn’s indoor waterpark. The park will be open daily from March 11-March 19th from 10am-5pm. There is something for everyone at Schlitterbahn including a swim up bar and hot tub for the adults.

Space Center Houston in Webster is one for the whole family. Children 3 and under are free. There are many exhibits to see and plenty of interactive activities as well. Take the NASA tram tour and see the behind the scenes of space exploration.

If you plan on visiting the League City and surrounding areas during Spring Break, come on by the office and say hello. We would love to hear from you.
