The Houston real estate market in 2016 achieved a record volume despite the oil patch downturn and 2017 is shaping up to be another great year.  Looking at full year data from 2015 versus 2016, single family home sales were up 3% with total volume (for all types of properties) up 4% (volume of $24,546,840,733).

Traditionally, homes start coming on the market in mid February and this year is no exception.  Homes are popping in to the market daily.  For home buyers, this would be a great time to buy due to less competition from those who will be in the market in the summer months as they try to get into their new home before school starts.

For home sellers, it's a great time to enter the market because inventory is still low enough to get them top dollar for their homes and go on to their next home purchase.

Houston is truly fortunate to have such a diversified economy and the influx of people from other parts of the country continues to help us grow. If you are still sitting on the fence, contact me or your family Realtor to discuss the possibilities.  A conversation to gather facts never hurts!
