A former industrial wasteland in NYC, Long Island City has beome it's hottest luxury market.  Over the last 15 years, LIC has been redeveloped and as a result added over 12,500 new units since 2010, with 9,000 more coming on the market in 2017.  LIC has a mediam rent of just under $3,000 and a sale price of $1million.  This compares to across the river in Manhattan where spaces are smaller of $3,400 for rent and over $2 million for purchase price of residential property.
