Get out and enjoy Houston this month...
There's lots of happenings around Houston this month with something for everyone...including the furry babies! First catch Dock Dogs at Discovery Green Park, Jul. 1st-3rd. // The Houston Symphony presents The Music of The Who at Jones Hall, Friday Jul. 1st at 7:30 pm. // Start your Fourth of July at Bayou Bend, where America's Colonial era is celebrated in patriotic style at the annual Independence Day Celebration from 1-5 pm. // The Woodland's are hosting their own Fourth of July celebration "Red, Hot & Blue" at Town Green Park and Waterway Square complete with live music, face painting, strolling performers, games, hot dog and watermelon eating contests, vendor booths, concessions and much more! Fireworks from 6-10 pm. // Looking for something to get the kids involved in over Summer break? Then try the Museum of Fine Art's summer REEL KIDS movie days...Wednesdays at 11 am. // 3rd Annual "Night in Havana" on Saturday, Jul. 9th starting at 8 pm at Ocean's on W. Alabama. // Enjoy a day full of visual and performance arts in ways that are environmentally conscious at the Green Arts Festival, Sat. Jul. 9th at 1 pm. Admission to the fair is free. Admission to the play is $5 for children, $10 for adults and $30 for VIP seating. // Don't miss the Kemah Boardwalk Summer Concert Series every Thursday evening at 6:30 pm during the month of July. // It's FREE movie night Jul. 16th at Discovery Green with a screening of Urban Cowboy at 9 pm. Test your mechanical bull riding skills 7-10 pm with TUTS Mechanical Bull Riding Competition! // Tony nominated broadway musical "Blues in the Night" makes it's way to the Ensemble Theatre. Set in a seedy 1930's Chicago hotel, it follows the stories of life, love and loss of three colorfully characterized women and a male saloon singer and features many of the classic blues hits from the same era. // The Columbian & Venezuelan Fest is Sunday, Jul. 7th at Discovery Green starting at 10 am. // Sade will be at the Toyota Center on Saturday, Jul. 23rd at 7 pm so get your tix now! // Family Art Workshops encourage families to come together to create art, write stories and poems, and watch performances inspired by Rienzi’s collection at MFAH. Admission is free, space is limited and reservations are required so make sure you sign up early. Upcoming art workshops on Jul. 10th and 17th from 1-4 pm and don't miss the family musical performance of "The Fantastic Fables of La Fontaine" on Jul. 24th at 3 pm. // On Thursday, Jul. 14th at 6:30 pm the Aurora Picture show invites Allison Hunter and Michael Brims to this month's Video Jam. It takes place in the Cullen Resource Room on the lower level of the Museum. Admission is free. Seating is limited. // Grand opening of Use Your Illusion is Saturday, Jul. 9th at 6 pm at Colton & Farb Gallery. Curated by Paul Horn, this exhibition takes its theme from a Guns N' Roses album from the late 1980's. // Spend the evening sampling from 100 craft beer and wines, sway to the beat of the Robert Hartye band and enjoy the sizzling sounds of the Slider Chefs serving up their best sliders for your vote at the Red Hot Block Party, Saturday Jul. 23rd, 5:30-9:30 pm at Sugar Land Town Square. // Please email me @  if you have any questions.
