How To Sell Your Houston Home In A Slow Market

December 3rd, 2018

Are you thinking about selling your Houston home but are concerned that it might take you a lot longer to sell your home than you originally expected? If so, you’ve come to the right place.

In this article, I will share with you several tips you can use for selling your home in a slow real estate market.

Tip #1 - Don’t Hesitate To Make Those Repairs

Yes, it’s true that the days of homes selling in 30 days, and multiple offers, are coming to a close but that doesn’t mean that you can’t still sell your home for top dollar.

One of the best ways to sell your home during a slow real estate market is to make repairs to your home that you’ve been delaying for some time because any time someone sees something in your home which needs to be repaired they will wonder “what else is wrong with the home?”.

Tip #2 - Declutter Your Home

Let’s face it, we’ve all accumulated our fair share of clutter in our homes because it’s something natural which comes from everyday life.

If you’ve found that your home has its a fair share of clutter you should go through each room and make piles for things that you want to keep, donate, and throw away. Once you have the items that you want to keep, you should only keep a minimal amount of items in each room of your home while placing the rest of your belongings in storage.

Tip #3 - Price Your Home Correctly

Last of all, but most important, you should always price your home correctly because listing your home for a higher price could mean that it may be on the market for a lot longer than you originally expected. Why? Buyers in today’s real estate market all have mobile phones and they won’t hesitate to look up your home online to see if it’s priced competitively or if it’s overpriced.
